What We Do

At Cedar Cones Studios, we work at the intersection of documentary storytelling, visual communication, and social impact. Our services combine documentary filmmaking, photography, creative content consulting, and training programs designed to help organisations document and communicate their work effectively.

01

Films

Film is at the core of Cedar Cones Studios. We create documentary and impact-driven films that capture the human stories behind social initiatives, community work, and organizational efforts.

Our work spans documentaries, program films, and storytelling-driven videos for NGOs and institutions—each shaped by context, research, and on-ground engagement. Rather than focusing only on visuals, our process involves listening, field immersion, and careful narrative development.

This approach allows us to create films that are not only visually strong, but also authentic, responsible, and rooted in the lived realities of the people and communities we document.

02

Photography

Photography at Cedar Cones Studios is rooted in documentary practice, focusing on capturing real experiences, people, and contexts with honesty and depth. Our work is driven by an interest in observing and documenting life as it unfolds, rather than creating staged or constructed visuals.

We primarily work on impact-driven documentary photography—documenting field programs, community initiatives, and social environments for NGOs and institutions. Alongside this, our experience also extends across diverse forms of photography including travel, landscapes, portraits, adventure, and selected commercial assignments.

This combination of documentary focus and varied visual experience allows us to approach each project with sensitivity, adaptability, and a strong understanding of both context and craft.

Creative Content Consulting for NGOs

Beyond visual production, Cedar Cones Studios works with organizations as a creative storytelling partner. Many NGOs do impactful work but struggle to communicate their stories in a structured and meaningful way.

Our consulting services help organisations identify powerful narratives from their field experiences and translate them into effective communication strategies.

Our approach typically includes:

1.Reviewing existing communication, including websites, social media channels, and current storytelling practices
2.Understanding the organization’s work and context, including field visits where necessary
3.Identifying meaningful stories emerging from field experiences and community engagement
4.Structuring storytelling themes and defining clear narrative directions
5.Designing interview frameworks and developing thoughtful story questions
6.Developing content strategies for campaigns and long-term communication
7.Guiding organisations on ethical storytelling and responsible representation
